License Minimums

Most Oracle products have a minimum user requirement. If you have any questions about your license or about having met the user minimum requirements, please call and review with your Idhasoft representative. 1-877-IDHASOFT

For Oracle Database Products
You can either license by:

• Named User Plus
• Processor

User Minimums when licensing by Named User Plus

Oracle Database Enterprise Edition	25 Named Users per Processor
Oracle Database Standard Edition	5 Named Users¹
Oracle Database Standard Edition One	5 Named Users²
Internet Application Server Standard Edition One	5 Named Users²
Internet Application Server Standard Edition	10 Named Users per Processor
Internet Application Server Enterprise Edition	10 Named Users per Processor
Oracle Database Enterprise	The number of Named User licenses of the Database options and the Enterprise Managers must match the number of Named User licenses of the associated Oracle Database
Application Server Enterprise Edition	The number of Named User licenses of the options and the Enterprise Managers must match the number of Named User licenses of the associated Oracle Application Server

¹The Oracle Database Standard Edition can only be licensed on servers that have a maximum capacity of 4 sockets.

²The Oracle Database Standard Edition One can only be licensed on servers that have a maximum capacity of 4 sockets.

If the user minimum is 25 Named Users per processor, then follow the instructions below to calculate the minimum number of named user licenses required for your intended hardware configuration.

Determine the number of processors required for licensing (you need to do the core calculation first) on each server where the programs are installed and/or running.
Add together the processors on each server.
Multiply the total number of processors by 25.
The resultant number represents the minimum number of named user licenses required for this hardware configuration.

User Minimums when licensing by Processor

The minimum is 1 for all Oracle Database products. Please note that the Oracle Database Standard Edition can only be licensed on servers that have a maximum capacity of 4 processors.
